SAFE ENVIRONMENT: To help protect our children, anyone aware of the possibility of sexual abuse of a minor is required by law to report this to the proper State authorities. Locally, you may contact the Carlisle County Sheriff at 628-3377 or the Kentucky State Police at 856-3721. If a priest, deacon, employee or volunteer is thought to be the cause of the abuse, immediately contact the State authorities as well as the Bishop or member of the Review Board at 270-683-1545. A copy of the Diocesan Policy dealing with sexual abuse of minors or vulnerable persons is available in the parish office and from the Catholic Pastoral Center in Owensboro. The safety of our children is the responsibility of every Christian. In addition, the Kentucky State Police has a website to check on sex offenders who live in the community. The website is http:/kspsor.state.ky.us/. Enter “Carlisle” for the county and you should be taken to picture and details about the person, including the offense for which he/she was convicted. Offenses against minors are especially important.
LIGHTHOUSE CATHOLIC MEDIA: Busy? Are you busy? What a silly question! We all live busy, busy lives…but are you too busy to take advantage of a new learning experience that literally comes to you, wherever you are. All you need is a CD player! In the car…while washing dishes…while exercising…you can now deepen your understanding and love for the faith! In the back of church you’ll see our stand offering nine different CDs and three different brochures. These feature some of the most inspiring Catholic speakers – bishops, priests, deacons and eminent Catholic lay men and women – on a wide range of topics. The CDs and brochures will be available after every Mass. We ask for a donation of $3.00 per CD and $.50 per brochure so that we may continue this program. When these are gone—they’re gone! And a new set with different titles and speakers will be ordered in. We encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
LOST & FOUND BOX: We have a box marked “Lost & Found” in the Cry Room. If you have lost anything, please check the box. Also, if you find something and you do not know who it belongs to, place it in the box.
